Modulr off the Mark Against Spirited Monzo Side

Both sides came into the game off the back of tough defeats on matchday 3, but both managers were optimistic of getting off mark and claiming their first 3 points.

In what was a very even game, which could have gone either way, Modulr proved more clinical in front of goal. Alex King stepped up with a hat trick to be the difference maker for Modulr as they defeated Monzo 6-3.

Monzo put up a spirited fight defensively and the improvement from last week was obvious. With neither side able to find the cutting edge to open the scoring in the opening phases of the game, a Tom Petrie strike halfway through the first half opened the scoring for Monzo, as he continued his rich vein of form in front of goal.

As the game developed, gaps in both sides’ defences began to surface, and Modulr took full advantage. The Monzo defence had held strong for the majority of the game, but some sharp movement from King saw him through on the Monzo goal, and he calmly dispatched the ball into the bottom corner to put Modulr in the ascendency. He completed his hat trick deep into the second half in clinical fashion, securing an important three points for Modulr.

Both sets of fans will be happy with the performances that their teams put in and will be optimistic that the second half of the season will see significant improvement in results.

Final Score: Modulr 6 vs 3 Monzo

Man of the Match: Alex King (Modulr)
